At the beginning of the public speaking training, I could definitely feel butterflies in my stomach when I got up to speak, but as we interacted, my confidence level rose, and I was actually able to successfully defend my Master’s thesis when attending the course. This confidence boost was due to the practical exercises in the course, and learning how to really prepare for a presentation and feel comfortable with the structure and delivery.
My colleagues had always considered me an eloquent and confident person. They would always single me out to make impromptu presentations. My boss would on numerous occasions send me out to represent him in meetings. But what my boss and colleagues did not know is that I was struggling with public speaking. Confidence did not come to me naturally and that’s when I jumped at the opportunity to enroll for the 'Public Speaking Course'. Here I learned how to make a good presentation, structure my content and have an impactful delivery. I can now represent my colleagues and my boss in any meeting without fear!
